  • Is this safe to use with retinoids/tretinoin?

    If you're using prescription retinoids, we always recommend checking with your doctor before adding in a new active. You can also do a patch test, or just alternate days or the times of day you use each—using your retinoid at night and this spot treatment in the morning.

  • Is this safe for pre-teens/teens?

    While our 2% BHA Spot Treatment was tested for safety and efficacy on adults, it should be safe for both teens and pre-teens. We always recommend checking with the child's doctor before starting any new skincare regimen.

  • When in my routine should I use this?

    You’ll want to use the 2% BHA Spot Treatment on clean, dry skin—right after cleansing and before moisturizer. If you’re using a hydrating serum, apply the spot treatment after serum. But to avoid irritation, skip layering it with other exfoliating acids or retinoids; you can alternate days or times of day instead. Don’t forget sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) to protect your skin.

How long is this product typically good for? I bought at Sephora today and it expires 12/2023…returning but hoping this expensive product lasts a lot longer than <3 months…
Hi Kyle, Thank you for reaching out. If there is not an expiry present, our products have an unopened shelf life of 2-3 years. The open jar symbol on each of our products indicates how long after opening, your product will be most effective. If there is an expiry printed on the product, production date and expiry date are different and most will have 12 months if they are an OTC product. We hope that helps!
In what order of my skincare routine should this be applied? Should I apply my serums, spot treatment and then moisturizer last?

The spot treatment was formulated to be used either on targeted blemishes or larger areas of skin where there is an acne flare up, post acne marks or even where you are prone to breakouts (as a preventative). This is a concentrated formula with four powerful actives–including hero ingredients 2% salicylic acid and 10% azelaic acid - so we do suggest doing a small patch test of the product before using to insure your skin responds well to the formula. Always use SPF during the day when treating skin with Chemical exfoliants (AHA/BHA’s etc) as the skin will be more photosensitive. HOW TO APPLY After cleansing, apply directly onto affected areas on face and body 1-2x daily. Best to tap for spot treatment or rub in if using for a larger area. To fully realize clinical grade benefits, use with Acne+ 2% BHA Cleanser. Thank you 💙️
Can you use this product with tetrinoin?
